Feeling Tickled Pink

I'm feeling like wearing a lot of soft pink colours! After looking at this site.

Some fancy things I would like to wear right now.

Oh, I just want to wear chiffon and go around in bare feet (even if I did just purchase huge crazy boots). Yes, I want spring. I'm all ready for it.

Baby Phat & Apple Bottoms Unique Plus Size Dresses

I apologize for not posting this original Apple Bottoms plus size dress below sooner. When I first saw it earlier this week, it was still available in sizes 18 and 22. Now it is out of stock. I am posting it here as an example of the really beautiful and unique styles you will find at both Baby Phat and Apple Bottoms in plus size dresses. I will likely be featuring their apparel more in the future on my plus size dresses page, before they go out of stock!

What first got my attention on these stores was the wide selection of dresses on sale at Baby Phat in plus sizes. They have plus size dresses on sale for as little as $20. Many of both these stores styles are suitable as eveningwear too. This one below is now $30 and available in sizes 1XL to 3XL

Currently Apple Bottoms sale dresses are a bit pricier than Baby Phat. Both stores have colorful, as well as black dresses in new arrivals. Both are featuring unique hoodie and banded bottom styles too. Both Baby Phat and Apple Bottoms give you the dress lengths in their descriptions. Especially handy when you are figuring out if a dress will work for you. You cannot really hem a banded bottom dress.

I love the fresh, original styles of both Baby Phat and Apple Bottoms and have some of their new styles featured on my above mentioned dress page.

I am still a big Silhouettes enthusiast too. They have lots of beautiful new dress style in new arrivals now too. As for excellent buys, in their Outlet store you will find plenty! Including these Onyx Nite stretch satin plus size special occasion dresses, now just $35 and still available in black in sizes 12, 14, and 18 to 24!


I also love the simple clean lines of Silhouettes’ new Gillian Grey women’s suits collections. There are some dresses and skirts in there too, with coordinating jackets!
Ok, so I like both trendy fashions, especially featuring the simple lines of the baby phat cat, and business classics like blazers and twin sets. Go figure?

Looking into that today I noticed this plus size lingerie style. Lately it seems to me that plus size shapewear is looking more like lingerie and at first I though this was a shaper, but it is not.

Go Crazy

Ohhhh I did something totally insane and spent money on a pair of boots that look like this:

Yes. They will be here tomorrow. Wonderful Guess "Maeve" boots. Kind of gothic but I can't wait to wear it with my chiffon dress with tights and leg warmers, a black blazer, and some crazy coloured scarf.

So now for some outfits that I would gladly wear. Because we all have Lacroix, Moschino and Schouler lying around in our closets.

SO EXCITED. SO IN LOVE.

But not nearly as excited or as in love with the fact that Barack Obama is now our President!!

Yes Brigitte, E Bay is a great place to low cost Plus Size Fashions!

Brigitte replied to my last post directing us to DiscountPlusSizeClothing.Net. That site appears to be largely a site that directs the reader to EBay. EBay is a good place to get great value for your money!

I have written a bit about some EBay stores I look to often near the bottom of my Women’s Suits page. I cannot seem to get the links to EBay to work here on Blogger. On the women’s suits page I have direct links to “Plus Size Women’s Clothing Stores” and “Plus Size Petite Women’s Clothing Stores”. These are listings of EBay stores. You will find these links readily enough under Shopping Women's Suits at EBay on the above-mentioned Women’s Suits page.

I also have a direct link to “Career Wear at Curvaceous Clothing” one that page. I like what I find, quite often, at Curvaceous Clothing. Which are usually women’s designer suits for under $50! This store gets excellent marks from EBay shoppers and its current categories are Suits, Outfits, Blazers / Jackets, Shirts / Blouses, Sweaters and Swimwear. Among the many suit jackets you'll find there today is an Austin Reed size 14 for $16 and a Ralph Lauren blue silk jacket, size 18W, for $40!

You will find there are a multitude of plus size fashion stores to shop on EBay.

Pretty Passport Holder

When I was walking pass the travel accessories section at Saks last month, I scoffed at the idea. Why would I need a pretty passport holder when I only use it once every few months, and when I do, only very briefly when I go through customs. Most of the time, it is kept inside my bag anyway.

A day or so later, I learnt the error of my ways. 12 hours before my international flight, I realized that my passport was not where it should be. I was completely frazzled and lost. I immediately started ransacking my apartment looking for it and even called HG internationally for moral support in my panicked state (it was the middle of the night for her too!). I kept looking while she went online and checked out what one does in a situation like this (it was a saturday night so govt departments are not even opened the next day). Half an hour later, I finally found it neatly tucked away in a inconspicuous looking white envelope. I'd used my passport 6 months ago for something else and had forgotten to put it back in the pencil case looking travel bag where I put all my travel stuff in. Phew! Crisis avoided.
The next day on my ride to the airport, I retold my story to my friend and she said that this was why I should get a pretty passport holder, then I'd never have to put my passport in a white envelope. Plus, I should get an eye catching one, so I'll see it immediately. She had a point. Now i'm a convert to pretty passport holder. The question of course, is which one. I'm considering this bright red one from Saks. It is simple, elegant and vibrant. Plus, the size is just right, with little compartments for travel award cards etc (actually it might even be a great present for mom!).

The DVF Keva Dress

I always knew that Ms. von Furstenburg was a genius with the wrap dress, but I thought that my one printed blue DvF classic wrap dress would be enough to quench my thirst for DvF. Unfortunately, she has proven me wrong with the Keva dress.
I first caught a glimpse of it online window shopping on Shopbop. It had only just gone on sale and I thought, aww what a pretty dress. Then the other day, I saw it at a department store and I must say, it looks even better in person! Naturally I simply HAD to try it on, even though the only one on the rack was about 2 sizes too big. And it felt absolutely beautiful. It is made out of this wonderfully flowy chiffon material that moves with you as you swirl. Most of the time with these kind of dresses, the chest area would be too big for me. But from the looks of it, with the right size, it promises to fit well on me (or so I imagine). And best thing of all? With this print, this is the perfect dress for Spring. The color is dark enough that you can pair it with tights for colder weathers. But the material and design is just light enough that it will still be great for summer! The print is also not so recognizable that it will be over next season. How awesome is this dress?

Unfortunately for me, I analyze too long and now they are sold out on Shopbop (it was half price!). I've already checked the DvF website, Saks and Neiman Marcus. But alas, it looks like this dress is lost to me. I definitely need to keep my eye out for something similar in the next collection!

Dress Me

What inspires your sense of style? For me, right now it's things that drape well, a summery sort of flow, romantic things and I get inspired by photos that appear drenched in sunlight. I love photo spreads, I could spend hours upon hours staring at them and soaking in their beautiful glossy feel. This is just a hint of what has been inspiring me lately, what about you?

There's something about the girl

There's something about the girls at Garance Dore. Maybe it's their fresh faces, their glowing skin, their always inspiring looks, or their gazing eyes. I love street-style blogs, because we're not looking at people who dress to the nines everyday in clothes that cost more than they should. We're simply looking at people with their own taste, their own style, just living their lives, who happened to be caught on camera and shown to the world.
