TANZANIA FASHION INDUSTRY TO MARK 50 years of UHURU
Swahili Fashion week Organizer met the Tanzanian designers on 17 May at the Little theatre club to discuss Plans for the Fourth Swahili Fashion week, Which currently is the Largest Fashion Platform in Eastern and Central Africa.
Amongst the topics discussed were on how to improve 2011 Swahili fashion week and taking it to a more International audience.
Designers who attended included Mgece Makory, Linda august, Kim dean, Doreen Estazia, salim Ali, Gabriel Mollel, Francisca Shirima, Farha Sultan, Kemi Sadikebi, Joy Kemibaro, Jamilla Swai, Gymkhana Hilal, Grace kijo, Ailinda sawe, Ailinda Sawe and kemi Kalikawe
“This years Fashion week is aimed at celebrating 50 years of UHURU since Tanzania got independence, and to mark this, 50 Tanzanian, regional and international designers will come together to showcase their creativity in pomp and pageantry “ stated Mustafa Hassanali the organizer of this annual Fashion week.
Swahili Fashion week 2011 will be held from 3-5 November 2011 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
